Private label is no longer a niche option — it is mainstream. Over 40% of IRANCO's annual shipment volume now goes out under customer brand names rather than our house brand. Retailers from Amsterdam to Dubai and from Nairobi to Seoul are discovering that Iranian nuts and dried fruits offer an exceptional private label opportunity: distinctive origin story, superior quality, and competitive pricing relative to competing origins.
Why Private Label Makes Sense for Iranian Products
The "Product of Iran" origin story is genuinely compelling in premium retail contexts. Saffron from the Silk Road. Pistachios from Kerman. Dates from the ancient groves of Bam. These are not marketing constructs — they are authentic geographical and cultural narratives that resonate with consumers who care about food provenance.
When you put that story on your own packaging with your own brand, you own the relationship with the end consumer. You control the positioning, the pricing, and the reorder cycle. Your competitor cannot instantly replicate your supply chain the way they might replicate a commodity product.
Minimum Order Quantities for Private Label
Private label MOQs depend on packaging format and product:
- Nuts and dried fruits (pre-packed consumer bags): 500kg minimum per SKU. This typically translates to 1,000–2,500 units at 200g–500g pack sizes.
- Saffron (consumer retail vials/boxes): 500 units minimum per size variant
- Honey and oils: 500 units minimum
- Dates (retail gift packs): 300 units minimum
For importers wanting to test private label before committing, we offer a mixed-pallet programme: 3–4 SKUs on a single pallet, each at reduced MOQ. Contact our export team for details.
Regulatory Labelling Requirements by Market
European Union / UK
EU food labelling (Regulation 1169/2011) requires: product name, list of ingredients, allergen highlighting (14 major allergens), net quantity, best before date, storage conditions, name and address of EU/UK business operator, country of origin for nuts and dried fruits, nutrition declaration (per 100g).
IRANCO provides a nutrition data sheet for every product. Our in-house design team or your own designer must incorporate all mandatory elements — we review all artwork before print approval.
GCC (Gulf Cooperation Council)
GSO 9/2013 labelling standard applies. Key additional requirements: Arabic language mandatory on all GCC-destined packaging; Halal logo from a GCC-recognised certifying body; GTIN barcode. We work with specific Halal certifying bodies whose stamps are recognised across all six GCC member states.
North America
US FDA labelling requires Nutrition Facts panel in the specific FDA format (different from EU Nutrition Declaration), bilingual English/French for Canada. Country of Origin Labelling (COOL) requirements apply. We supply all nutritional data in FDA-compliant format.
The Design and Approval Process
Our typical private label timeline from artwork approval to shipment ready:
- Week 1: You submit artwork files (or we brief our design partner) — we review for regulatory compliance
- Week 2–3: Packaging materials production (bags, labels, boxes)
- Week 3–4: Product packing and quality check
- Week 4–5: Documentation preparation and shipment
Total: 4–6 weeks from artwork approval to shipment. For reorders with existing artwork, 2–3 weeks is achievable.
